Job Summary

Quantbox is a technology-driven Proprietary trading firm that specializes in systematic alpha research and electronic market-making on various exchanges. We trade across a multitude of asset classes and trading venues with significant market share. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic R&D team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development, system administration, and automation tools. The DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in the development, deployment and ownership of software services that enable our team to deliver innovative research results quickly and efficiently.

Finance industry experience is not required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure as Code: Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to manage and provision cloud infrastructure resources.
  • CI/CD Pipeline: Design, implement, and maintain a robust CI/CD pipeline to automate the build, test, and deployment of software applications.
  • Configuration and Server Management: Implement configuration management tools and practices to ensure consistent and reliable system configurations.
  • Monitoring and Observability: Set up comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions to track system performance, identify issues, and facilitate troubleshooting.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers and operations teams to ensure seamless collaboration and efficient delivery of software products.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a DevOps or similar role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in Python and Linux.
    • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g. GitLab, GitHub).
    • Expertise in system administration and configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Puppet).
    • Working knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g. GCP, AWS, Azure).
    • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
    • Understanding of monitoring and logging tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an environment with continuous deployment of analytic software.
  • Exposure to C++ and gdb.
  • Knowledge of machine learning and data science pipelines.
  • Experience with cluster workload scheduling systems (e.g. Slurm, Condor, Grid Engine, Nomad)
  • Experience with distributed network storage and filesystems (e.g. Ceph, Gluster, Luster, Cloud Buckets).
  • Understanding of security and authentication in distributed Linux environments.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
