James McMath is an accomplished engineering manager with extensive experience in backend engineering and technical leadership. Currently serving as the Engineering Manager at Quanata since May 2020, James oversees a team of backend engineers responsible for significant technical initiatives in policy management and customer billing systems. Previous roles include staff engineer and senior software engineer at Karat, where James facilitated technical interviews and evaluations, as well as founder of Chapbook, LLC, which focused on crowdfunding for authors. James has held engineering manager positions at Tophatter and developed safety features at Remind. Additional experience includes freelancing for International Bridges to Justice and operations at Coursera. James earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese Language and Literature from Reed College and furthered education at Seoul National University and Capital Normal University.
