Richard Wellburn has over 25 years of experience in finance and accounting. Richard began their career in 1993 as an Audit Supervisor at Deloitte. In 1997, they moved to E D & F Man Sugar as an Assistant Divisional Accountant, where they were responsible for significant Group Consolidation and implementation of a new Group Accounting Package. In 1998, they joined Staples as a European Financial Controller, where they were responsible for European Reporting under US GAAP. In 2003, they became Head of Accounting at Pickfords, a private equity backed company. Here, they managed a large finance team and was responsible for all aspects of Financial Control, Accounts Receivable and Payable. In 2004, they joined The Cobra Group as Director of Finance, where they were responsible for all UK companies Financial Planning, Control and Treasury Management. Richard was also responsible for all European Businesses Financial Planning, Control and Treasury Management from 2004 to 2009. In 2013, they moved to CloudSense Ltd as Finance Director and Financial Controller. Here, they were responsible for Business Planning and Partnership, Financial Control and Treasury Management, as well as the management of Finance, HR and Facilities. In 2016, they became Head of Finance at Tictrac, a Digital Health Platform Business with a SaaS model. Richard led a trade sale to Dialogue (Quoted Canadian co.) in April of 2018 and a successful Convertible Note Raise in June of 2018 and a £6m Series A in March of 2020, including conversion of 20+ prior Convertible Note Holders. Most recently, they have been the Chief Financial Officer at Quality Clouds since 2022.
Richard Wellburn attended Giggleswick School from 1984 to 1989, after which they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics at Durham University from 1989 to 1992.
