Leul Makonnen has over 25 years of professional experience in the IT field. Leul began their career in 1996 as a Senior Windows Systems Administrator for SMS Data Group. In 1997, they moved to Wang Global as a Systems Analyst and Team Lead. In 1999, they joined ManTech as a Cyber Security Analyst and Team Lead. In 2011, they began working for General Dynamics Information Technology as a Principal Security Analyst, supporting DHS service USCIS integrating network security tools for SOC. In 2016, they joined Cyber Defense Solutions, LLC (CDS) as a Senior Security Analyst. In 2017, they moved to Spear, Inc. as a Senior Data Engineer, Splunk Certified Architect, Consultant II, and Administrator. In 2018, they began working for Copper River Enterprise Services as an IT Subject Matter Consultant 1, Strategy & Advisory SME, and Splunk Certified Architect/Consultant II. Leul is currently employed by Qmulos as a Splunk Engineer.

Leul Makonnen has an education history that includes a current enrollment at Splunk University. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications from institutions such as Qmulos, Splunk, and CompTIA, including Certified Q-Audit Deployment and Certified Q-Compliance End User from Qmulos in July 2022, Splunk Enterprise Security Certified Admin from Splunk in September 2022, Splunk Core Certified Consultant, Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin, and Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect from Splunk in January 2021, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) from CompTIA in September 2019, and CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA in April 2018.
