Mick Andrae's work experience begins in 2006 when they served as the Officer Commanding for the 171st Aviation Squadron in the Australian Army. Mick continued their military career as an Army Aviation Standards Officer in the Australian Defense Force from 2008 to 2009. In 2010, Mick pursued higher education, completing a full-time MBA at the Australian National University. Mick then joined the Apis Consulting Group as a Senior Management Consultant, where they focused on strategic consulting and project/program management from 2011 to 2012. Mick worked for KBR, Inc. from 2012 to 2015, first as a Project Manager, then Planning Manager, and finally as the Capability Development Manager. Mick joined QinetiQ Australia in 2015 and held various roles, including Business Development Manager and Integrated Capture Team Leader, until 2017. Mick briefly served as the General Manager for Anitcom in 2017. Mick rejoined QinetiQ Australia in 2018 and held positions as the Senior Manager for Strategy and the General Manager for Emerging Business. In 2020, Mick transitioned to QinetiQ and served as the Business Development Director for the International business unit before becoming the Global Campaign Director for Robotics & Autonomous Systems in 2022.

Mick Andrae completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management, General at The Australian National University from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from UNSW, where they studied from 1993 to 1997.
