Jodie Stephens is an experienced media and government relations professional currently serving as the Senior Media and Government Relations Adviser at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute since August 2021. Prior to this role, Jodie worked as a Digital Journalist and Site Editor at SBS Australia from July 2020 to August 2021 and held multiple positions at Australian Associated Press, including NSW Political Reporter and NSW Court Reporter from April 2017 to July 2020. Earlier career highlights include a role as a Digital Journalist at The Sydney Morning Herald from November 2015 to January 2017 and experience as a Health Reporter and General Assignment Reporter at The Examiner from September 2011 to July 2015. Jodie also contributed as an Advisory Group Member for Mindframe, which focuses on safe media reporting on suicide and mental illness, from 2014 to 2016. Academic qualifications include a Graduate Certificate in Science Communication from The Australian National University in 2020 and a Bachelor of Journalism with a focus on Politics and International Relations from the University of the Sunshine Coast in 2011.
