Richard Palmer serves as the Sustainability Lead at Atelier Ten, where responsibilities include coordinating sustainability efforts across member firms of the Surbana Jurong Group in Africa, the Middle East, and Pakistan. Richard is also the Sustainability Director for the Qiddiya development project near Jeddah and works as a photographer and writer at Sun Salt Sand Sea. Prior experience includes directing global sustainability initiatives at Introba and working with WSP in Australia & New Zealand, where Richard led multi-sector sustainability teams. Career highlights also feature leadership roles at the Council for Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, along with extensive work in green building design, corporate sustainability, and engineering. Richard holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town and has specialized in biomimicry and design.
