Richard Kessell is an experienced professional in the fields of forensic genomics and application support, currently serving as the EU/GEM Manager for the HID Applications Team at QIAGEN since February 2023. Previously, Richard held the position of Field Application Specialist Manager at Nuclera, where responsibilities included customer training and product launch preparations. Prior to that, Richard worked at Verogen in various roles, including EMEA Service Lead and Senior Field Application Scientist, focusing on the technical support and maintenance of Next Generation Sequencing instruments for forensic applications. Richard's earlier experience includes a role as a Forensic Field Application Specialist at Illumina and various positions at QIAGEN, enhancing sales team capabilities in the Applied Testing market and contributing to technical advancements. Richard began a career in forensics as a DNA Analyst at the Forensic Science Service. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree in Forensic Biology and Biomolecular Science from the University of Portsmouth.
