Kanav Setia has had a varied work experience since 2008. Kanav began as an Intern at the Liquid Propulsion System Center, ISRO in 2008, followed by an Internship at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center, ISRO in 2009. In 2011, they worked as a Scientist/Engineer 'SC' at the Semiconductor Laboratory, Indian Space Research Organisation (DOS) and also completed a B.Tech Project at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST). From 2012 onwards, they have been working as a Freelance Android Developer, developing apps such as an aerodynamic coefficient calculator, custom voice recorder, attendance manager, and NHS. In 2018, they were a Quantum research summer intern at IBM, followed by a Research Intern at IBM in 2019. In 2020, Kanav Setia became a Visiting Graduate Student at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing and a Co-founder and CEO at qBraid.
Kanav Setia completed a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Space Technology-Aerospace Engineering, with a minor degree in Astronomy and Planetary Sciences at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology between 2007 and 2011. Kanav then went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Quantum Information and Quantum Simulation from Dartmouth College between 2015 and 2020. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications from edX and Coursera, including Introduction to Linux (2015), Machine Learning (2014), Classical Mechanics (2013), Circuits and Electronics (2013), Electricity and Magnetism (2013), Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Computation (2013), Embedded Systems - Shape the World, Introduction to Statistics: Descriptive Statistics, and Relativity and Astrophysics.
