Akash Verma, PhD, currently serves as the Global Sustainability Manager at Avery Dennison since August 2021, where a significant role involves shaping the strategic direction and implementation of sustainability initiatives across the full value chain of the company's products and services. Prior to this, Akash was a Carbon Strategy Analyst at Shell from October 2014 to August 2021, focusing on analyzing the implications of portfolio changes on Shell’s Net Carbon Footprint, updating methodologies, and enhancing technical awareness within the Carbon Community. Earlier experiences include serving as a Materials and Corrosion Engineer within the oil and gas sector and holding various positions at the University of Oxford, including Site Warden and Badminton Club Coordinator. Akash's educational background includes a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Oxford and a BTech in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur.
