Maja Kinnemark has over 15 years of work experience in the field of exhibition design and interior design education. Maja currently serves as Head of the Exhibition Design Department at Qatar Museums since May 2020. Prior to this, they worked as an Assistant Professor of Interior Design at Virginia Commonwealth University, School of the Arts from August 2007 to May 2020. Maja also has experience as an Exhibition Designer at Utställningskritik since January 2005. Additionally, they worked as a Lecturer at Folkuniversitetet and as a Wood Shop Technician at HDK, Göteborgs universitet both from August 2005 to June 2006.
Maja Kinnemark's education history begins with a summer course at Pratt Institute in 2002, where they studied architecture. In the same year, they enrolled at the University of Gothenburg and completed their Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture in 2005. Following this, Maja attended Linköping University in 2005 and 2006, where they completed a Masters course in Museum Exhibition Design, earning 30 credits. Finally, they pursued their Master of Fine Arts in Interior Design Research at RMIT University from 2012 to 2014.
