Glenn Hofert P.e.

Director Of West Coast Operations at QED Systems

Glenn Hofert, P.E. has had a successful career in the field of naval shipyard management and operations. Glenn served as the Director of West Coast Operations at QED Systems, Inc. from June 2012 onwards. Prior to that, they held the position of Assistant Deputy Commander for Naval Shipyard Management Group, Industrial Operations Directorate at NAVSEA from September 2010 to June 2012. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of four public Naval Shipyards, with a focus on nuclear and non-nuclear maintenance, repair, and modernization of aircraft carriers, submarines, and surface ships. Glenn managed a budget of over $4 billion and a large workforce.

Before their tenure at NAVSEA, Glenn served as the Operations Officer/Business & Strategic Planning Officer at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility from June 2007 to August 2010. During this time, they were responsible for planning, programming, budgeting, and execution of $7 billion in ship maintenance and modernization projects. Glenn ensured the safe delivery of multiple nuclear submarine and aircraft carrier projects within schedule, cost, and quality parameters.

Glenn's career also includes serving as the Force Maintenance Officer at Commander Naval Air Force from April 2005 to June 2007, where they were responsible for overseeing maintenance operations. Glenn also worked as the Aircraft Carrier Chief Engineer aboard USS RONALD REAGAN (CVN 76) from 2003 to 2005, where they managed the operations and maintenance of equipment and systems throughout the ship.

Furthermore, they served as the USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65) Project Officer at Supervisor of Shipbuilding Newport News from September 2000 to July 2003. Prior to that, they served as the Officer in Charge, Ship Repair Unit and Project Manager USS LASALLE (AGF 3) at Commander Naval Surface Group, Mediterranean from July 1997 to September 2000. In this role, they were responsible for managing a large number of foreign contracted voyage repairs on deployed U.S. ships.

Glenn began their career at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in June 1994, where they served as the Nuclear Assistant Project Manager (CGN 36) and Business Operations Officer. In this role, they managed the inactivation, reactor compartment disposal, and recycling of nuclear submarines and cruisers.

Throughout their career, Glenn has consistently demonstrated strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of naval shipyard operations.

Glenn Hofert, P.E. has a strong educational background with a focus on engineering and business. Glenn obtained their Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating in 1986. Following this, they pursued further education and completed their Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, where they studied from 1992 to 1994. In 1991, Glenn also obtained an M.B.A. with a Marketing emphasis from National University. Glenn's educational history highlights their dedication to expanding their knowledge and expertise in both technical and business-related disciplines.
