Miguel Herrero Cangas has a diverse range of work experience. Miguel currently works as a Market and Insights Analyst at PVcase since 2022. Miguel supported the Cabinet members in finalizing and executing communication strategies, including the 2050 Long Term Strategy for climate neutrality.

Prior to their time at the European Commission, Miguel worked at Independent Power Corporation PLC from 2017 to 2018 as a General Assistant and Project Coordinator. Miguel provided project support, arranged meetings and travel, and oversaw compliance with takeover panel requirements.

In 2016, Miguel had two roles. First, they worked as a Delegate at the Commission on Narcotic Drugs as part of the civil society delegation. Miguel live-blogged proceedings and coordinated with a team to cover plenary sessions and side events. Additionally, Miguel worked as a Communications Intern at the International Drug Policy Consortium. Miguel was responsible for website and social media content, policy analysis, and translation.

In the same year, Miguel also contributed to the UCL Global Governance Institute. Miguel worked as a Contributing Author and drafted a report on global drug policy's impact in Latin America. Miguel also authored a blog post and gave a public talk to increase understanding of international drug control and human rights.

In 2015, Miguel worked as a Research Assistant at the Centro de Investigación y Estudios sobre Comercio y Desarrollo (CIECODE).
