Alan J. Aitken has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Alan J. currently holds the position of Director Sales & Applications Engineering at PV Fluid Products since May 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Consultant from July 2020 to May 2022.

Before joining PV Fluid Products, Alan served as the Director Sales and Applications Engineering at the same company from March 2018 to June 2020. Alan J. also worked as a Consultant at AJA Consulting from December 2016 to March 2018, and as a Senior Consultant at Qittitut Consulting from September 2016 to March 2018.

Alan's extensive experience also includes working at Baker Hughes, where they held various positions over the years. From November 2013 to June 2016, they served as the Director of Drilling Engineering and Technical Support Drilling Services North America, managing a team responsible for drilling services support across the region. Prior to that, they held the role of Director of Applications Engineering, Sales, and Operations Support from March 2009 to November 2013.

Before their time at Baker Hughes, Alan worked at Baker Hughes INTEQ, where they held multiple director-level positions in product line management, drilling and evaluation technical services, and order fulfillment. Alan J. began their career in the oil and gas industry at Eastman Teleco, Eastman Christensen, Norton Christensen, and Christensen Diamond Products, where they progressed from operations engineering and technical support roles to management positions.

Throughout their career, Alan has demonstrated expertise in sales, applications engineering, drilling optimization, and technical support. Alan J. has also managed teams, developed strategies, and cultivated client relationships.

Alan J. Aitken completed their Bachelor of Science (B Sc Hons 2:1) in Physics from the University of Strathclyde from 1972 to 1976. Alan J. then pursued their Master of Science (M Sc) in Petroleum Engineering from the same university from 1981 to 1982. In 2004, Alan attended the Thunderbird School of Global Management where they studied Business Management, and in 2006, they furthered their education at the same school, focusing on Business Administration and Management, General. Additionally, in 2006, Alan completed an executive education program in Marketing courses at the Caltech Industrial Relations Center.
