Xin Yi Fang has a work experience in both software development and student representation. From January 2017 to the present, they worked as a Software Developer at PSP Investments. In this role, they were part of a development team responsible for creating a suite of applications for market assumption forecasting and portfolio construction. They built web application interfaces using Angular and developed API endpoints for the backend REST API using ASP.NET Core.

Prior to that, Xin Yi Fang worked as an IT Intern at PSP Investments from January 2017 to April 2017. They were involved in web application development for financial research groups. They practiced various technologies such as JavaScript, AngularJS, jQuery, Bootstrap, Html 5, and CSS. They also performed regressive Unit Test and Integration testing.

In addition to their work experience, Xin Yi Fang was the First Year Representative at DIRO Université de Montréal from September 2014 to April 2015. They shared information about upcoming events and acted as a liaison between students, professors, and the department. They actively participated in meetings and collaborated with other executive members to address issues.

Xin Yi Fang completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Université de Montréal from 2013 to 2017. In 2015, they also pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from National Chengchi University for a year. Before attending university, Xin Yi Fang attended Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf from 2010 to 2012, where they obtained a College degree in Arts, lettres et communication - Média numériques. Moreover, Xin Yi Fang has obtained several additional certifications from Microsoft, including Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, all in July 2022.
