Scientific Advisor at Psilera Bioscience

Steven Austin is currently a Scientific Advisor at Psilera Bioscience. Prior to this, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at Florida State University from August 2014 to June 2020. Their research there focused on couplings between long-timescale protein and aqueous structural fluctuations among therapeutically relevant protein drug targets. Steven also developed several GPU-accelerated analysis methods to predict hidden drug binding sites and understand their role in modulating enzymatic function.

Before their time at Florida State University, Steven Austin worked as a Separations Scientist at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research from July 2013 to July 2014. There, they were part of a small team that provided peptide and small molecule purification for over 200 medicinal synthetic chemists. Their responsibilities included method development and maintenance for 30+ MPLC, HPLC/MS & SFC/MS instruments.

Steven Austin's first job was as a Synthetic Research Assistant at Draper Laboratory from May 2012 to January 2013.
