Jonathan Shefftz is an experienced outdoor education and training professional, currently serving as a Governing Board Member for the American Avalanche Association since August 2012. With a longstanding role as an Avalanche Safety Instructor and Mountain Travel & Rescue Instructor for the National Ski Patrol since 2005, Jonathan teaches various levels of avalanche safety and mountain travel skills to both patrollers and the public. Jonathan also organizes and competes in rando race events throughout New England and has been a ski instructor and race coach since 1989, holding multiple certifications from the Professional Ski Instructors of America. Additionally, Jonathan has contributed as a gear reviewer for WildSnow.com, focusing on avalanche rescue equipment. Education includes qualifications from the American Institute for Avalanche Research & Education, Chauvin Guides International, FEMA, and the National Ski Patrol.
