Yolanda Smits is an expert in European affairs with extensive experience in the creative industries and international trade. Since September 2015, Yolanda has served as a Consultant for EU Affairs at PRS for Music, advocating for the interests of songwriters, composers, and publishers within the Digital Single Market Package. Concurrently, Yolanda has held the position of Director International at KEA European Affairs since January 2009, providing strategic consultancy to various clients in the cultural and entertainment sectors. Previous roles include Senior Adviser for International Trade and European Affairs at IFPI, where Yolanda represented major sound recording companies, and European Affairs Consultant at CEOE, managing EU-funded cooperation projects. Earlier career experience includes a role as Deputy Secretary General at EuroCommerce, ensuring retail trade interests were considered in the Internal Market proposals. Academically, Yolanda holds a Master in Copyright Law from King's College London, a Master's in European Law from the College of Europe, and a Law Degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
