Wouter Berkhout has over 16 years of experience in water management and urban planning. Currently serving as an Adviseur Water en Ruimte at Provincie Overijssel since April 2017, Wouter focuses on issues at the intersection of water management, water safety, and spatial adaptation. Prior to this role, Wouter worked as an Urban Water Consultant and Water Footprint Specialist at Royal HaskoningDHV from September 2007 to April 2017, providing technical and strategic advice to water boards and municipalities. Wouter also served as a Policy Advisor for Water and Sewerage at the municipality of Heerhugowaard from May 2004 to August 2007, where responsibilities included policy formulation and implementation related to urban water systems. Wouter holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Twente and completed VWO at Meander College.
