Katja Nakken currently serves as a Senior Policy Advisor for cross-border cooperation with North Rhine-Westphalia at Provincie Overijssel since January 2022. Previously, Katja held the position of Senior Advisor for German Relations at Provincie Drenthe from January to December 2021 and worked at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations as a Senior Policy Officer focusing on cross-border cooperation with North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony in 2020. Katja's early career included roles as a German teacher and department head at Coornhert Gymnasium and as a teaching trainee at Ashram College. Additionally, Katja has extensive experience in policy roles related to export control and non-proliferation at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation, and the Ministry of BZK. Katja's educational background includes a degree in Germany Studies from the University of Groningen, a Master's in Education from Leiden University, and a Bachelor's in Translation from Hogeschool Maastricht.
