Michael Batty has an extensive work experience in the field of urban planning and forecasting. Michael currently works at Prospective.io as the Chief Scientist, where they are involved in developing an integrated urban forecasting platform. Prior to this, they held the position of Bartlett Professor of Planning at University College London, where they also established the Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis (CASA). Michael has also worked as NCGIA at University at Buffalo and in the field of City Planning at Cardiff University.
Michael Batty pursued their Bachelor's degree in Town and Country Planning from The University of Manchester, where they studied between 1962 and 1966. Subsequently, they attended the University of Wales, Cardiff, from 1980 to 1984, where they earned a PhD in Architecture.
