Derek Schultz has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Derek began their career in the US Navy as an Aviation Ordinance - Master At Arms, where they built and assembled weapons and ensured the safety of the ship and its crew. After their military service, Derek worked at FOUR PEAKS LANDSCAPE MANAGEMENT, INC as a Tree GPS-Tree Groundsman-Tree Foreman, where they were responsible for the company's tree inventory, assisted a Certified Arborist with proposals and RFPs, and occasionally worked as a tree crew groundsman. Since 2011, Derek has been with ProQual Landscaping, serving as the Vice President of Tree Services.

Derek Schultz attended DeVry University but did not obtain a degree. In 2012, they obtained a certification as an ISA Certified Arborist from the International Society of Arboriculture.
