Dr. Glassman completed his undergraduate and medical school training at Princeton University, New Jersey, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University in New York. He completed his orthopedic residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York followed by a Spine Fellowship at Leatherman Spine Fellowship Program in Louisville, Kentucky.

He is the Medical Director at Norton Leatherman Spine Center, Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Louisville, Past-President of the Scoliosis Research Society, and Co-Chair of the American Spine Registry (ASR).
