Koichi Kurisu has a long and varied work experience. Koichi began their career in 1996 as a Conceptual Researcher for Lucasfilm, where they aided in animatic development for George Lucas's Episode 1 of the Star Wars franchise. In 1999, they became a Product Manager for Opus360 / Freeagent.com, where they designed the company's web-based and e-commerce enabled Exchange application and authored Marketing Requirements and Functional Design Specifications. In 2000, they worked as a Consultant for Loquesea. In 2001, they became the Chief Operating Officer for Kurisu International, Inc., where they had P&L responsibility for a national design/build landscape architecture firm. Koichi restructured the business, eliminating loss-making divisions, focusing sales on the healthcare market, reducing debt, improving the capital structure, and returning the company to profitability in 18 months that spanned the 2001 downturn. In 2006, they were a Summer Intern for ShoreBank Pacific. In 2007, they were a Summer Associate for Cherokee Investment Partners. In 2008, they became a Managing Director for Essex Management. In 2019, they became an Unreasonable Fellowship for Unreasonable, an organization, investment fund, and private global network dedicated to supporting entrepreneurs. Finally, in 2014, they became the Chief Operating Officer for Propel Fuels, California's largest retailer of low-carbon transportation fuels.
Koichi Kurisu obtained their diploma from Choate Rosemary Hall in 1991-1996, followed by a BA in Koichi'story and Science from Harvard University in 1996-1991. Koichi then earned an MBA from Yale School of Management in 2006-2008. Prior to that, they attended Oregon Episcopal School from 1982-1989. Koichi also holds a LEED AP certification from the USGBC - National Capital Region Chapter.
