Sumit Dhawan currently serves as CEO of Proofpoint, guiding a global workforce of over 4,500 employees in combating cyber threats and compliance risks. Previously, Dhawan was President at VMware, where leadership of go-to-market functions resulted in over 100% ARR growth since 2021. Earlier roles included Chief Customer Officer at VMware, CEO of Instart, and Senior Vice President and General Manager of VMware's End User Computing business. Dhawan's career began at Citrix Systems in various roles, culminating as Group VP & General Manager, where significant advancements in enterprise mobility were made. Sumit Dhawan holds an MBA from the University of Florida and additional degrees from institutions including Stanford University and the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
