David Merriman is a skilled research director with extensive experience in the mining and materials sectors. Currently serving as Research Director at Project Blue since November 2022, David previously held the same title at Wood Mackenzie from October 2021 to November 2022. Prior to that, David spent over a decade at Roskill, where roles included Manager of the Battery and Electric Vehicle Materials Division and Deputy Manager of the Battery and Technology Materials Division. David's expertise encompasses rare earths, lithium, tungsten, and molybdenum, with a focus on market outlook reports and consultancy projects. Earlier career positions included geologist roles at Bastillion Resources and Compania Minera Pimenton, where David contributed to exploration and geological assessments. David holds an MSc in Mining Geology from the University of Exeter and a BSc in Geology from the University of Birmingham.
