Lone Varn Johannsen has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Lone Varn began their career as a Development consultant and teacher at VUC Nordjylland in 1992. In 2008, they transitioned to Aalborg University, where they worked as a Special Consultant and later became the Head of Fundraising and Project Management Office. In 2017, Lone moved to the University College of Northern Denmark, where they took on the role of Chief Consultant at the department for Research and Development, with a primary focus on fundraising support. Lone Varn is currently the acting Head of the Research and Development Support Office.
Lone Varn Johannsen obtained a Master's degree in Management and Organisation Psychology from Aalborg University in the years 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, from 1985 to 1992, they also earned a Master's degree in English and International relations at Aalborg University. Additionally, they completed their high school education, obtaining a Studentereksamen in the field of Sproglig from Brønderslev Gymnasium from 1979 to 1982.
