Erik Smits has extensive experience in education and support roles, currently serving as a Begeleider at Professionals in NAH since September 2019, where the focus is on assisting individuals with acquired brain injuries. Previously, Erik held the position of mentor, coach, and teacher for mathematics and world orientation at NUOVO Scholengroep from 2014 to 2020, specifically working with international newcomers in the Dutch education system. Erik also served as the Director of It Twaspan primary school from 2009 to 2011 and acted as an advisor for the building and infrastructure sectors at Fundeon from 2000 to 2009. Earlier roles include coordinating campaigns for educational promotion and working as a classroom teacher for grades 1 to 8 from 1982 to 2000. Educational qualifications include various training and certifications in educational practices, culminating in a diploma as a fully qualified teacher.
