As our Payroll Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring our payroll processes run smoothly, maintaining the highest level of integrity and confidentiality. Reporting directly to the Payroll and Compliance Manager, you’ll be the go-to person for all payroll-related queries and support, contributing to a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. You'll be part of a progressive business that embraces innovation, values collaboration, and is always looking for ways to improve.

Key Deliverables:

  • End-to-end processing of weekly payroll with precision and efficiency.
  • Maintain and manage employee files, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
  • Interpret awards, agreements, and contracts for payroll calculations.
  • Manage superannuation reporting, payroll tax lodgements, and PAYG compliance.
  • Support month-end activities, including payroll accruals and KPI reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, aligning with best practices.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of commercial experience in payroll with proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
  • Sound knowledge of the Retail Awards System preferable, with strong knowledge of payroll legislation, industrial laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Highly proficient with Excel.
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on a company’s success.
  • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Optimistic team player, with a future-focused approach and the willingness to jump in at any time to achieve business outcomes.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
