Bill Schaefer has extensive experience in pastoral leadership and community service. Since June 2008, Bill Schaefer has served as Pastor at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, focusing on the mission of the Gospel through Word and Sacrament Ministry. Prior to this, Bill Schaefer was a Synod Council Member for the Southwestern Pennsylvania Synod of the ELCA from June 2005 to June 2009, providing guidance for synod ministries. Bill Schaefer also held the position of Pastor at Christ and Emmanuel Lutheran Parish from June 2000 to June 2008, and served as President and Board Member of the Armstrong County Area Agency on Aging Advisory Board from January 2003 to December 2007, working to improve the lives of senior citizens in the area. Bill Schaefer's early ministry experience includes a pastoral internship at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church from August 1998 to July 1999. Educationally, Bill Schaefer earned a Master of Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg (2000) and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Penn State University (1992).
