Heather Jackson currently serves as the Area Director for the West Area Branches of the Prince George's County Memorial Library System, overseeing the operations of four branches and supervising a team of 50-60 staff members. With extensive experience in library management, including previous roles such as Assistant Branch Manager and Librarian III for Children's Services, Heather has demonstrated strong leadership and organizational skills. Additionally, as a freelance writer since 2011, Heather has produced educational materials for various clients, and prior experiences include roles in educational support and child protective services. Heather holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities with a focus on Ethnomusicology from The University of Texas at Austin.
