Waylon Jepsen has worked in a variety of roles since 2019. In 2019, they were a Co-Founder at AtticaVoting and a Cyber Security Analyst at CSU School of Education. At CSU School of Education, they performed research and development of distributed ledger technology to improve the security of university networks, presented on identity authentication and phishing attacks for Cyber Security Awareness Week, and created voting security software using distributed ledger technology. In 2020, they were a Researcher, Junior System Administrator, and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Colorado State University. As a Researcher, they worked on error detection code research supported by the National Science Foundation and produced papers to be submitted to academic journals. As a Junior System Administrator, they assisted the Systems team with administration of over 500 Linux workstations, including scripting, recording offline backups, and installing security upgrades. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, they taught a 300-level computer security class to undergraduates and developed encryption programming assignments for students. In 2021, they were a Developer Relations at Hedera. Currently, they are a Senior Research Engineer at Primitive.
Waylon Jepsen has a comprehensive educational background. Waylon completed a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Philosophy from Colorado State University in 2019. Waylon then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from the same university, which they completed in 2022. Waylon is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from Colorado State University. Additionally, they have obtained a number of certifications from Codecademy and Stanford University, ranging from cybersecurity to Python programming.
