Muhammad Musa Makarfi is a seasoned Banker, astute businessman and an estate developer of repute. He attended the famous Bayero University in Kano, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Political science in 1981. He has attended several courses and workshops on various aspects of banking operations, management, leadership and strategy, among others.Mr. Makarfi had over three decades of post-graduation experience, about two decades of which were in various aspects of banking. He started his banking career with the defunct Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) in 1983 in Maiduguri, Borno State. He later joined former Owena Bank in 1986 where he served as the branch accountant in charge of the entire branch operations in Kano. He successfully started off and developed a new branch of Habib Nigeria Bank Ltd in Bauchi from 1991 – 1992. He was at different period’s branch manager of the Habib Nigeria Bank Ltd in Kano, Yola, Abuja, and the Head office branch in Kaduna. Due to hard work and diligence to assigned duties, he was elevated to the position of Assistant General Manager (AGM) in charge of Business Development, covering the entire North West of Nigeria.
Mr. Makarfi’s experience in banking traversed many areas like Operations, Loans/Advances, Foreign exchange as well as Opening letters of Credit, Cash Management and preparations of daily statement of affair. He has also served as a Director in the Integrated Cash Management Services Ltd, a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) licensed cash Management Company.
He incorporated Na-aka Air Services in the year 2002 with Air Charter Services and secured an Air transport license from the Federal Ministry of Aviation. Prior to his appointment as a member of the Board of Premium Pension Limited, he has been managing his private property development business registered as Tudu Properties, a specialize business, with large clientele of both foreign and indigenous companies.
