Joanna Sitarz is a Doctoral Researcher at the PIK - Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research since October 2021. Prior to this role, Joanna served as a Blue Book Trainee in Climate Action at the European Commission from March to July 2021 and completed an internship in Sustainability Management at the Ministerstwo Klimatu i Środowiska in early 2021. Joanna conducted a Master's Thesis at Forschungszentrum Jülich, focusing on Generative Neural Networks for the Day-Ahead Scheduling of Renewable Energy Systems. Additionally, Joanna completed a Bachelor's Thesis at Imperial College London, assessing Negative Emission Technologies. Previous experiences also include a role as a Student Teaching Assistant at RWTH Aachen University and an internship in Project Engineering at Novartis. Joanna holds a Master of Science in General Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, along with an exchange semester in Environmental Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
