Toph Allen is a software engineer at RStudio PBC since December 2020, prior to which experience includes roles at EcoHealth Alliance from June 2013 to December 2019, culminating as Director of Data Science. At EcoHealth Alliance, responsibilities involved predictive modeling for disease emergence risk, utilizing statistical models, machine learning, and experimental design, alongside work as a research scientist and data scientist. Earlier, Toph Allen contributed as a research assistant on a risk model for emerging infectious diseases and served as an organizer at L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center, where tasks included canvassing for voter persuasion on same-sex marriage from June 2009 to May 2011. Toph Allen holds an MPH in Epidemiology from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and a BA in Sociology from the University of Southern California.
