Edwin Vet has extensive experience in the maritime industry, currently serving as kapitein and B-categorie hydrografisch surveyor at Port of Rotterdam since 2001. In this dual role, Edwin Vet is responsible for maneuvering vessels into the smallest harbors within the Rotterdam port area and ensuring the water depths in critical locations are maintained. Previously, Edwin Vet worked as a VTS operator, managing safe and efficient ship traffic in the Rotterdam harbor. From 1999 to 2001, Edwin Vet was the captain of fast catamarans and hovercraft for Fast Ferry bv, maintaining a high-speed ferry service between Rotterdam and Dordrecht. Edwin Vet's maritime career began in 1983 at Chemgas Shipping BV, where various roles included stagiaire, matroos, motordrijver, stuurman, and schipper on inland gas tankers and push boats.
