Commissioner Joe Melroy was elected to the Port Commission in 1998. He has been a Ridgefield resident since 1968, relocating here from San Diego, where he attended college. Shortly after moving to Ridgefield, Melroy founded On-site Roll Forming, a business he has successfully operated for nearly thirty years.

Melroy is active in local civic groups including Spudder Boosters Club, Ridgefield 4th of July Committee, Little League Baseball, Chamber of Commerce, Ridgefield Business Association, and the Lions Club, on which he served as chair. Additionally, Melroy served on the Ridgefield Planning Commission.
