Dr. Jotham Musinguzi is currently the Director-General of Uganda’s National Population Council (NPC), Ministry of Finance.
Dr. Musinguzi is a Public Health Physician. He has taught Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Makerere University Medical School, Kampala. He has special interests in Population and Development, Reproductive Health, Family Planning, and HIV/AIDS. Dr. Musinguzi has in the past served as the Regional Director of Partners in Population and Development, Africa Regional Office (PPD ARO).
Dr. Musinguzi is current Chair of the Board of Directors of Uganda’s National Medical Stores (NMS); Board Chair of Commonwealth Medical Trust, London (UK); Board Chair of PACE (Uganda). He serves as a Board Member of Women Deliver (New York) as well as Board Member of Guttmacher Institute.
Dr. Musinguzi is a recipient of the 2013 United Nations Population Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action. He is also a recipient of the 2014 International Alumni Award for Exceptional Achievement from the University of Albany, New York.
