Chris Nicol is an experienced electrical engineer currently employed at SMART Technologies since July 2010, focusing on the development of hardware for advanced collaborative solutions, including DViT interactive whiteboards and educational devices. Previously, Chris served as a firmware engineer at the same company, developing firmware and diagnostic tools for various educational technologies. Prior to SMART Technologies, Chris worked as an electronics contractor at Science Alberta Foundation, designing and repairing educational devices, and gained teaching experience as a teaching assistant at the University of Calgary. Chris’s earlier career includes a role as an electronics engineer at Grindcom, where responsibilities encompassed circuit design and software development for control systems in the forestry sector. Educational qualifications include an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary and a B.Tech. in Electronics Engineering from DeVry Institute of Technology.
