Matthew Karnitschnig is a seasoned journalist currently serving as Chief Correspondent at POLITICO since May 2015. Prior experience includes roles as Staff Reporter and Editor at The Wall Street Journal from 2000 to 2015, where coverage spanned business, economics, and politics in the United States. Matthew also worked as a Correspondent at BusinessWeek for a brief period, and held the position of Chief Correspondent at Reuters News Agency from May 1998 to December 1999. Prior to that, Matthew was a Correspondent at Bloomberg LP from February 1997 to May 1998. Academically, Matthew earned a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Hampden-Sydney College.
