Mari Eccles is an experienced reporter currently working at POLITICO Europe since July 2020. Previously, Mari served as a BBC Local Democracy Reporter at Manchester Evening News from April 2018 to July 2020 and as an Antitrust Reporter at MLex Market Insight from December 2015 to March 2018. Earlier roles included a French Media Monitor at newsfirst and a Digital Reporter at Europolitics. Mari has also freelanced for the BBC, covering the Newport East and Newport West counts during the 2015 general election. Other internships and short-term positions include a Journalism Trainee at the European Parliament and work experience at Coventry Telegraph, Guardian News & Media, and the Welsh Government. Mari holds a BA in Italian and French from the University of Warwick and a PgDip in Newspaper Journalism from Cardiff University, with additional studies at the Università degli Studi di Torino.
