The Polish Academy of Sciences (PAS) is a state scientific institution founded in 1952. Its institutes conduct strategic research, educate next generation of scholars and popularize science. PAS brings together great minds, leading researchers with recognized authority and outstanding achievements in science. The Academy functions through a network of several dozen research institutes and other units such as: divisions, committees, territorial branches and foreign scientific centers, libraries, archives, museums, botanical gardens and creative work centers.
