Raija Laukkanen started their work experience in 1985 as a Researcher at the UKK Institute. Raija worked there until 1994. In 1994, they joined Polar Electro Oy as the Director of Sports Science Collaboration. Raija currently holds this role.

Raija Laukkanen has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Physiology from the University of Eastern Finland. Raija also has a Master's Degree in Sports Sciences, with a focus on Physiology, from the University of Jyväskylä. Additionally, they have attained the title of Docent from the University of Oulu. The specific field of study for their Master's degree and the field of study for their Docent title are unknown.
