Deirdre Alphenaar serves as the Head of Market Intelligence - Data Insights at Point72, where responsibilities include managing a team that provides actionable insights for investment strategies across multiple regions. Prior roles at Point72 involved developing strategies for integrating alternative data into trading workflows and sourcing novel data for investment insights. Prior to Point72, Deirdre Alphenaar was the Chief Research and Development Officer at Genscape, leading the creation of market-moving alternative data products in energy and commodities. Earlier experience includes a directorial role in wireless technology networks at TE Connectivity and research in oncology at University College London. Deirdre Alphenaar holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Surrey, along with multiple degrees including a B.Sc. in Experimental Physics from the University of Galway and a Post-doctoral Fellowship at the University of Cambridge.
