Per Hassel Sørensen has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Per Hassel is the founder and Chief Technical Officer of Podbike, a company that designs and manufactures sustainable personal transport solutions. Per Hassel has been involved with Podbike since January 2016.
Before founding Podbike, Per worked at Elpedal AS, where they served as the Chairman. Per Hassel was responsible for a part-time project focused on improving pkm/MJ for human transport, which was later commercialized through Podbike AS. Per Hassel joined Elpedal AS in February 2013.
Per also worked at Zaptec AS as a Principal R&D Engineer from February 2013 to May 2017. In this role, they were involved in the development of electric vehicle charging solutions and miniature power electronics. Per Hassel also engaged in electromechanical design, testing, and building apparatus.
Prior to that, Per served as the Principal Design Engineer at Mirmorax AS from August 2011 to February 2013 and as the Engineering Manager at Zeropex AS from June 2009 to October 2011.
Before entering the sustainable transport and engineering fields, Per gained experience in the oil and gas industry. Per Hassel worked at Roxar Flow Measurement AS as a Principal Engineer from October 2007 to June 2009. Prior to that, they held the role of Senior Subsea Engineer at the same company from June 2003 to October 2007.
Per also has experience in the technology and IT industry, having worked at SmartSeal AS as a Technical Manager from June 2004 to August 2006 and at Merkantildata, Norway as a Senior System Consultant from January 1993 to December 1998. At Merkantildata, they were responsible for LAN and WAN networking using various technologies and specialized in high availability servers. Per Hassel was one of the first five MSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) in Norway.
Additionally, Per has worked at Rosetta AS as the General Manager from March 1998 to December 2004 and at Applied Plasma Physics AS in an R&D role from January 1999 to May 2003.
Per Hassel Sørensen completed their education in a chronological order. Per Hassel first attended the University of Stavanger from 1982 to 1984, where they specialized in the field of Cybernetics. Following this, they enrolled at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences from 1985 to 1988 and received a BsC in Automation & offshore Instrumentation. Later, from 2011 to 2015, Per pursued a degree program at the University of Stavanger and obtained an MsC in Sustainable Energy Production.
