Principal Test Engineer at Plug Power

Kris Fisher has over 20 years of experience in various engineering roles. Currently, they work at Plug Power as a Principal Test Engineer. Prior to this, from 2021 to 2022, they worked at Hyzon Motors as a Controls Engineer. Kris also has experience at Delphi Technologies, where they held multiple roles. From 2018 to 2019, they served as an Engine Management Systems Sr Calibration Engineer, where they conducted analysis and calibration of Engine Management Systems for Flex Fuel and gasoline production vehicle programs. They also worked on research and development of advanced prototype hardware. In a previous role at Delphi Technologies, Kris was a Valvetrain Product Development Engineer, responsible for evaluating the performance of prototype and production program Variable Valve Lift and Timing Hardware on motored engines. They also developed automated scripts and data analysis tools to streamline testing processes.

Prior to Delphi Technologies, Kris worked at Delphi, where they held different roles over the years. From 2013 to 2016, Kris served as a Sr EMS Calibration Engineer, focused on analyzing and calibrating Engine Management Systems for Flex Fuel and gasoline production vehicle programs. They also conducted Engine Cold Start assessment and calibration with ethanol fuels to reduce start time and energy usage. They also worked as a Fuel Cell System Lead Product Development Engineer from 2011 to 2013, where they managed daily activities of the System Test Lab and conducted research on advanced fuel cell technologies. Kris also has experience as a Fuel Cell System Test Engineer, designing and calibrating integrated Fuel Cell Systems, and as a Fuel Reformer Test Engineer, building and investigating onboard fuel reformers for use with fuel cell systems.

Kris Fisher obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University at Buffalo, focusing on mechanical engineering. The period of study spanned from 1998 to 2001. In more recent years, Kris pursued further education at Monroe Community College, completing a certificate program in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering. This program was undertaken between 2020 and 2021.
