Kym McGain has a diverse work experience spanning several companies. Kym joined Plenti in 2014 as a Software Engineer, where they played a crucial role in building a new world of lending focused on speed and simplicity. After two years, they were promoted to Head of Engineering, continuing to contribute to Plenti's technology-driven lending approach. In June 2022, Kym was appointed as the Chief Technology Officer, overseeing the company's technological advancements. Prior to their time at Plenti, they worked at SMS Management & Technology as a Consultant from 2011 to 2014. Before that, Kym was a Research Developer at Constraint Technologies International from 2009 to 2010.

Kym McGain attended Monash University from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours) degree. Kym also received a certification in "PRO: Designing and Developing Windows Azure Applications" from Microsoft in September 2012.
