Jennifer Hammitt has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Jennifer currently works at Platte River Power Authority as the Director of Legal Affairs, a position they have held since 2021. Prior to that, they were a Senior Counsel at the same company from 2020 to 2021. From 2018 to 2020, Jennifer worked at Marten Law LLP as a Senior Associate. At the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), they served as Counsel and eDiscovery Team Lead in the Office of General Counsel from 2011 to 2018. Jennifer also gained experience as a Judicial Intern at the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida, and as a Dean's Fellow Teaching Assistant at the University of Miami School of Law Academic Achievement Program. Jennifer participated in the Summer Honors Program as a Law Clerk at the United States Environmental Protection Agency Office of General Counsel. Earlier in their career, Jennifer worked as a Florida Bar Foundation Fellow at Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., and as a Volunteer with the Peace Corps in Guatemala. Jennifer'sfirst professional experience was as an Office Manager at Brian McPartlon Roofing.

Jennifer Hammitt attended St. John's College from 1999 to 2002, where they studied Philosophy and Liberal Arts. Afterward, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and English at The University of New Mexico from 2004 to 2005. Jennifer then furthered their education at the University of Miami School of Law from 2008 to 2011, earning a Juris Doctor degree with a focus on Law.
