Virginia Janssens has an extensive work history in various roles related to public affairs, environmental packaging, and strategic communications. Virginia is currently the Managing Director of PlasticsEurope, a position they have held since March 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Managing Director of EUROPEN, an EU industry association focused on packaging and the environment, from July 2012 to March 2020. In addition, they worked as the EU Affairs Manager at EUROPEN from January 2010 to June 2012. Before their time at EUROPEN, Janssens was a Public Affairs Consultant at PA Europe, where they provided strategic advice and communications support to clients in various sectors. Their career began as an Account Executive at Weber Shandwick, a role they held from October 2004 to January 2008.
Virginia Janssens completed their Master's degree in Political & Social Sciences at KU Leuven in 2003. In 2004, they obtained a second Master's degree in Intercultural Management from ICHEC Business School Brussels. In 2016, Virginia pursued further education in Financial Management at Vlerick Business School. Most recently, in 2017, they attended Harvard Law School for an Executive Education program focused on Negotiation Skills and Leadership.
