Shafaq Zia is a science and health journalist eager to communicate complex scientific ideas to the lay public. She discovered her love for science writing during her time at Northwestern University, where she pursued a degree in journalism and served as the managing editor of the campus newspaper, The Daily Q. After completing a master’s in Science Writing from MIT, Shafaq is excited to put her skills to good use by covering climate science. She believes that empowering vulnerable local communities to build climate solutions is an integral step in the fight against climate change.
